Now, with much of the world once again opening its ears wider to the sounds of Latin music, Juanes is extending a global invitation for all to delve and dance even deeper - with “Más Futuro Que Pasado” providing his most immersive and forward-looking fusions yet of tradition and contemporary guitar, to create a 21st century take on Cumbia, Guasca, Vallenato and more folkloric styles.While Juanes’ recent honor as the 2019 Latin Recording Academy Person Of The Year recognized his “creative artistry, unprecedented humanitarian efforts, support for rising artists, and philanthropic contributions to the world” across his already record-setting career, the advance song releases of “Más Futuro Que Pasado” already continued to match the Colombian star’s pace of award recognition & chart success. In fact the album’s longest-lead advance single “Pa Dentro” already won a Latin Grammy Award, with subsequent releases receiving more major nominations this year: “La Plata ft. Lalo Ebratt” (Record of the Year) and “Querer Mejor ft Alessia Cara” (Record of the Year & Song of the Year). Most recently, Juanes & Sebastian Yatra’s recently released joint single “Bonita” already topped radio charts across Latin America, surged to #1 on Billboard’s “Latin Airplay Chart” for Juanes 12th Career #1 single in the United States and was just certified Gold from the RIAA.As can be seen by the guest artists that were already revealed through the advance singles, “Más Futuro Que Pasado” also continues Juanes long practice of supporting young rising artists and producers in which he sees great artistry – with additional album appearances from Crudo Means Raw, Fuego, and Christian Nodal – who appears on today’s simultaneously released NEW single and video “Tequila.” Uniting the legendary Colombian artist with the rising Mexican singer-songwriter, the track showcases a fusion of each homeland’s embrace of Cumbia styles.
